The Vive team announces about the upgrade option for existing Vive owners. Cosmos Elite Headset HMD and External Tracking Faceplate, both with Half-Life: Alyx.
According to Vive Team that this upgrade is based on the feedback heard from the Vive owners. The launching of this upgrade is in the coming weeks, both a headset-only version of the Cosmos Elite Headset and the External Tracking Faceplate as a stand-alone accessory. Remember that this is only for Existing Vive owners who already have base stations and controllers.
This Cosmos Elite Headset is retailing for $549 and will include a pre-installed External Tracking Faceplate and the Cosmos Headset, alongside Half-Life: Alyx and six months of Viveport Infinity for free. $199 for External Tracking Faceplate as an upgrade accessory for Vive Cosmos and can be used with base station version 1.0 or 2.0.
Vive Team said that the Elite headset will begin shipping starting in April. Please see the schedule below.
